IPL

Evansville, IN

Introduction

Sun exposure, breakouts, and even genetics can leave behind more than just temporary changes in your skin. Over time, pigmentation, redness, and uneven skin tone can settle in, making your complexion look dull or inconsistent, no matter how much skincare you use.

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) with the Optimas system at Conkright Aesthetics offers a powerful, non-invasive way to restore clarity, brightness, and balance to your skin. By targeting pigment and vascular irregularities beneath the surface, IPL corrects discoloration at its source, revealing a smoother, more even-toned complexion.

With technology like Lumecca, IPL treatments are faster, more precise, and more effective than traditional light therapies, making this an ideal option for patients in Evansville who want visible improvement with little to no downtime.

What is a IPL?

The Optimas is a full beauty suite offering professional-grade aesthetic procedures from InMode. The Optimas is equipped with intense pulsed light, laser, and radiofrequency capabilities for skin treatments, discoloration, and hair removal. The Optimas can perform all these procedures efficiently and effectively on a single platform. In our office, we offer Forma, DiolazaXL, Lumecca, Vasculaze, and Morpheus8 on our Optimas.

Why the Optimas?

We love the Optimas because they are quick, easy, and effective! Did we mention it is non-invasive?! If you’re new to the aesthetics world, this is a perfect device to start with! It will introduce a variety of services and features that are available to you. Call us to hear about more options!

Technologies on the Optimas

Forma is a skin technology providing dermal and subdermal heating. Radiofrequency is delivered via electrodes to provide a non-invasive, pain-free treatment. Built-in temperature controls ensure the treatment reaches optimal endpoints safely and effectively. The Forma is comparable to Morpheus8, but it is completely non-invasive. The Forma is equivalent to a nice, warm massage while you’re completely relaxed, tightening your skin. At Conkright Aesthetics, we sell our Forma sessions in packages of 6 treatments. Pricing varies based on how many areas you are treating at once. You can choose to treat anywhere from 1 to 4 in a sitting.

What can you expect? For optimal results, book your Forma treatments once a week for 6 weeks, then continue maintenance treatments as needed. Will it last? Yes, if you keep up with good skin care and healthy habits, you can always schedule another appointment if you feel you could use a little extra tightening. Why 6 treatments? The Optimas treatment suggestions have been curated by experts and determined the appropriate timing and number of treatments per session. How long does it take? Expect to be in the office for 45 minutes per area. This will allow the skin to reach the appropriate temperature and remain there to promote skin tightening.

Who are the best candidates for a IPL?

IPL in Evansville is best for those wanting to correct discoloration and improve overall skin tone without invasive procedures. This includes:

  • Individuals with sun damage, age spots, or freckles, particularly on the face, chest, or hands.
  • Patients experiencing redness or vascular concerns, including rosacea or visible capillaries.
  • Those with uneven skin tone or pigmentation issues, such as post-acne discoloration.
  • Individuals committed to maintaining results, especially those willing to practice consistent sun protection.

What are the benefits of a IPL?

IPL is one of the most effective non-invasive treatments for improving overall skin tone and clarity, particularly for concerns related to sun damage and pigmentation. IPL:

  • Reduces sun damage and age spots, helping fade brown discoloration from UV exposure.
  • Improves redness and vascular concerns, including rosacea and visible broken capillaries.
  • Enhances skin tone and brightness, creating a more even, radiant complexion.
  • Minimizes the appearance of acne scars and pigmentation irregularities, leading to smoother-looking skin.

How to Begin Your IPL Journey

Your IPL treatment plan at Conkright Aesthetics is carefully customized to ensure safe, effective, and long-lasting results. This can be done during a consultation at our Evansville office, and you can expect the process to look like this:

  • Schedule a consultation with Dr. Conkright’s team to have your skin concerns and treatment goals thoroughly assessed.
  • Receive a personalized treatment plan, including the recommended number of sessions (typically a series of three).
  • Discuss complementary technologies within the Optimas platform, such as Forma or RF microneedling, to enhance your results.
  • Follow pre-treatment guidelines, including limiting sun exposure and avoiding tanning prior to treatment.
  • Begin your IPL sessions with a clear strategy that focuses on both correcting existing damage and maintaining long-term skin health.

What to Expect from a IPL?

Your IPL treatment in Evansville will be efficient, comfortable, and highly effective. First, your skin will be cleansed, and protective eyewear will be provided. The IPL device is then applied to the treatment area, delivering controlled pulses of light that target pigmentation and vascular concerns beneath the surface of the skin.

Patients often describe the sensation as a quick snap or warm flick against the skin, but it is generally well tolerated and does not require anesthesia. A full-face treatment takes 30 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the area being treated.

Immediately after treatment, the skin may appear slightly red or feel warm, similar to mild sun exposure. Pigmented areas may temporarily darken before gradually flaking off or fading, revealing clearer, more even-toned skin.

Combining My IPL with Other Procedures

You can combine IPL with other procedures or treatments, depending on your specific goals. Our team will walk you through your options and recommend the most appropriate choices for your skin type, but some of the most common combinations include RF microneedling and HydraFacials.

Combining IPL with RF microneedling allows you to address both surface-level discoloration and deeper structural concerns. IPL improves tone and pigmentation, while RF microneedling stimulates collagen and tightens the skin. Together, they create a more complete transformation in both clarity and firmness.
