Fat transfer can be done in more than one setting: awake, under local anesthesia in our office surgical suite, or under general anesthesia at an outpatient surgery center. BeautiFill is used in either setting, and it often allows us to perform fat transfer awake, using our awake surgery techniques. For the right candidate, that is an excellent setting: comfortable, nearly pain-free, and without general anesthesia. Which setting is right for you is decided with Dr. Conkright at your consultation.

The process begins with liposuction, in which fat is gently removed from the donor area through small, discreet incisions. The harvested fat is then purified and carefully prepared before being strategically injected into the treatment area.

Dr. Conkright places the fat in layers for smooth contours, optimal survival of the transferred fat, and natural-looking results.

After the procedure, both the donor and treatment areas will be monitored, and compression garments may be applied to aid healing.
