Medicine found me early. At fifteen, I had an ER visit for a hand injury, and the surgeon who cared for me changed the trajectory of my life. Among all the adults I encountered growing up, he stood out — vital, respected, and genuinely contributing to our community. He was a person I admired deeply, and I knew I wanted to become someone like him. I was a strong student, and once I realized medicine was within reach, I committed to it completely and never looked back.

Continuous learning is built into this profession, and I take it seriously. I read constantly, invest in the most advanced technology available for our practice, and attend national and international meetings several times a year. Those gatherings aren’t just educational — they’re where I collaborate with colleagues who are pushing the field forward. That exchange keeps me sharp and brings real value back to my patients.

I want every patient who walks through our doors to feel that they are in the most capable, attentive hands possible. That standard doesn’t waver based on the size of the procedure.

Plastic and reconstructive surgery sits at a rare intersection of intellect and craft. The problem-solving and the precision both matter, and I find that combination genuinely energizing. But what stays with me most is the gratitude of a patient whose life has been changed — whether that’s restored confidence, recovered function, or simply feeling like themselves again. That never gets old.

I pursue challenges in everything I do. I’m an instrument-rated private pilot with over 1,500 flight hours, a second-degree black belt, and an advanced scuba diver. I’m an Eagle Scout — three palms — and that ethic of preparation and perseverance has shaped how I approach everything, including surgery. I’ve summited Kilimanjaro and rafted the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon twice. I have three children and three grandchildren, and they keep me grounded in what matters most.

I was born and raised in southern Indiana, about twenty miles from where I practice today. After fourteen years away for training — college, medical school, residency, fellowship — I came home intentionally. This community shaped me, and I wanted to give something back to it. There’s something meaningful about caring for people you grew up with, and neighbors of people you grew up with. This is where I belong — and where Conkright Aesthetics was built to serve.
